Strength and flexibility can lead to a better golf swing. As I think about it, having flexibility and the ability to make a full golf swing will allow you to not sway away from the ball. Combine that with having strength and the right technique and you can increase club head speed, ball speed, and ultimately distance. So let’s look at some golf fitness apps that can put you in the right direction to a better golf swing.
Golf Fitness App Pricing
** Please note that pricing on golf fitness apps changes from time to time so it is impossible to keep up with the latest and greatest rates**. I will say that many of these golf fitness apps will have either a promotional offering from time to time or a reduction in price when purchasing a yearly subscription.
Fit For Golf App
I first ran into Mike Carroll thanks to Twitter. Mike is consumed with fitness and golf and offers continuously posts tips on Twitter in regards to improving health and strength. One day on Twitter he might write about the importance of protein in the diet for maintaining muscle mass. The next day he might post about his own program for increasing driver speed. The bottom line is he practices what he preaches. Videos give clear and concise instructions.
Fit For Golf is made for every level of golfer. You can ease into a Beginners program with 3 phases, each of which last 3 weeks. Workouts last between 30-50 minutes and are done 3 times a week. If you are a beginner golfer or haven’t worked out in a while, this is a great place to start.
There is a Fundamentals program where you will need adjustable bands or dumbbells. Many can do this workout right from home and can continue this type of workout indefinitely. It is meant to work on mobility, strength, and power. Also check out the Off Season program, Winter Strength, Golf Strong, Power Plan, In Season, as well as Golf Warm Up Routines before practicing or playing.
The Fit For Golf App is being used by over 6000 golfers with the current price being $14.99 a month. There may be a discount when purchasing a yearly subscription. The program gets fantastic ratings and truth be told, it is one of the more affordable fitness golf apps available today. Perhaps what I like best about the Fit For Golf App is that you can make use of the program using a variety of equipment. ie resistance bands, a medicine ball, pull up bar, or no equipment at all. You don’t need to have access to a gym.
GOLFFOREVER App
The GOLFFOREVER App and training system receives a majority of fantastic reviews. As many of us get older, we find that we are fighting through injuries or have aches and pains. This is usually combined with a loss of distance on the golf course. With the Golfforever app, you will find daily exercises targeting pain relief and prevention, pre-round warmups, flexibility, strength, etc… How would you like to have Justin Leonard share some tips on course management? Justin only adds credibility to everything else this app has to offer.
You will also see names like Scottie Scheffler and Ryan Palmer as part of the Golfforever team. At the time of this writing you can start off with a 30 day free trial to see if this program will suit you well. Over 90% of users continue on with the $24.99 monthly rate. Be on the lookout for any promotional offerings that may be found with Golfforever. I especially enjoy how there is a personalized golf exercise plan. GOLFFOREVER Android version and GOLFFOREVER Apple version.
When incorporating this exercise routine, you may start to see results in as little as two weeks. It is recommended you have exercise bands. In addition, if you have access to dumbbells, a Swiss Ball, and foam roller, there will be added exercises you will be able to do. Otherwise, you can complete workout routines without any equipment on hand. If you are looking to increase clubhead speed, strength, flexibility and range of motion, as well as add stability to the core, this program is something you should look into.
Golf Body Rx
Ok. Not sure I would call this an app but it is a golf fitness program. Ready for a 28 day golf body tune-up? This includes a dynamic stretching routine. According to the folks with Golf Body Rx, dynamic stretches (versus static stretching) helps to develop functional flexibility. They even have the data to back this up.
I agree with the premise of the program. As someone who has a sit down job and has had that type of job for 20+ years, I have tight muscles that only seems to be getting worse on a yearly basis. Many of the exercise recommendations can be completed without having extra equipment. For some, maybe even better than added flexibility improving the golf swing, the positive side effect is that having more flexibility and better balance can help to reduce pain and reduce or prevent injuries. Program 1 takes care of the above and can be done in minutes in a hotel room, bedroom, golf shed, etc… This includes 23 no equipment exercises.
Program 2 focuses on the core and is termed the 28 Day Flat Belly Golfer Challenge. It offers to let golfers take back control of their health. So whether it is losing weight, getting some much needed motivation, increasing energy and boosting strength and stamina, Golf Body Rx offers a way to better your health and golf game. Easily accessible through a PC, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. There are also pdf documents available for download. In other words, no excuses.
Credentials? The gentleman who created this course, Benjamin Arnold is a licensed physician. He is also a TPI Certified Professional. That is the Titleist Performance Institute.
The Golf Body Rx reviews were enough to peak my interest and as one who is not a fan of monthly recurring payments, Golf Body Rx has a one time payment for lifetime access to their 28 day program. Normally it would be $198 for the two programs which are offered but at the present time you can pick them up for just $79.
Now I may sound like a commercial here but you can preview the bundle for 28 days for just $1. If you want additional workouts, you can sign up to their GBRx Academy which does have a monthly recurring charge but offers a new routine each Sunday. Just click here to check out Golf Body Rx and you won’t be disappointed. Did I mention the 28 yards in 28 days guarantee?
There is an upsell at checkout where you can get SIX BONUS “GBRx Finisher” Flexibility Routines for $60 along with a couple/few other upsells before finalizing your order. Oh. Once you’ve signed up, they do have a private Facebook group. Then with the online welcome letter, there are more upsells which are unrelated to golf. Note to the authors of this program, give all the upsells a rest. Seriously. It takes away from the validity of the workout program I just purchased.
I enjoy the program I purchased. Yes, for me it is a little basic but the variety of exercises (even if they are repeated over the days) do give a good workout and can oftentimes be completed in 15-20 minutes or so.
GOLFWOD
Calling themselves the #1 golf fitness app, GOLFWOD was first launched on Instagram in 2017. By 2020 the GOLFWOD app came to be. Today, thousands of golfers around the world use the app with a custom designed user experience along with a Golf Fitness Handicap. Golf Fitness: Delivered.

Golf Fitness Apps Revisited
There are a number of golf fitness apps or golf specific flexibility and strength programs on the market today. Some are tailored more for the beginner or senior who might need help in increasing flexibility. I personally used a flexibility program last year but it was not golf related and was based on static stretches. Golf fitness apps offer the option of tailoring exercises specifically for the sport of golf and oftentimes with individualized workouts to help increase rotation, increase strength, increase flexibility, and increase clubhead speed, amongst a number of other positive benefits to your health and golf swing.
Get in shape this off-season, become stronger, and more flexible by checking out one of these golf fitness apps or programs. Your body and golf score will thank you.
